The Summit has evolved into one of our most versatile and durable down jackets, ideal for cold weather mountaineering, hanging out at base camp in bad weather and for use throughout the year for cold days at the crag. The detachable hood adds to the jackets versatility allowing you to reduce weight or opt for full mountain protection.

The Summit has been a staple of the Rab range for many years and continues to be very popular. Using high quality 650 fill power goose down and a Pertex Endurance shell this is by no means the lightest down jacket that we produce but it does mean it is incredibly durable.

In response to user feedback we have added 60g of polyester insulation to the shoulders of the Summit Jacket to keep this part of the jacket warm and protect the down fill. Down in this area can be crushed and compressed over the years and the synthetic insulation goes some way to help prevent this.

  The jacket is great, the hood keeps the head toastie but, and it's a big but, the zip is rubbish. It is a two way zip which more often than not is fiddly in the extreme to do up and very often comes apart making it very hard to undo. Please change the zip, it ruins a great jacket.
