Leoplodo is a Lisbon, Portugal based climber and explorer.

Leo recently took time out to answer a few questions for us.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Where were you born and where’s home now?
Lisbon it’s like my all life city! When I’m travelling for a long time I really feel the joy of getting home. Not that I enjoy Lisbon that much, but the little things like the sunny weather, the food, the sunset at the cliffs by the sea... It’s just too good!

Tell us about your work?
At the moment I’m finishing in 2 months my degree in Marketing and the only thing that comes to my mind is climbing. Future will tell, but I really love being out there doing what I love the most, I will try to stick with that...

How long have you been climbing?
For 12 years.

Describe your very first climb
I started to climb in a sea cliff near Lisbon, I felt immediately connected to the atmosphere around climbing. Not the climbing itself but the atmosphere around it, the chance of face such demanding challenge surrounded by beautiful places and friends it’s unique!

Describe your climbing career
It still too short, but I would say that till now it’s been filled with tons of fun and different experiences...

What are your most memorable climbs?
It’s hard to say... If I had to choose just one, I would probably say the day I climbed THC2 in Sagres. It was a perfect day with a lot of friends a wonderful route on a beautiful place.

What do you do when you’re not climbing?
I’m probably thinking about it!

What’s your proudest moment?
The day I started climbing.

Who or what at inspires you?
People who try hard, sunny winter days, the people I climb with...

Do you carry any regrets?
I don’t believe in that.

What are your future plans/goals?
Keep doing what I’ve been doing, climbing, travelling, bolting, exploring, and first of all, having fun.

How else do you train?
I don’t have something planned, I just try to adapt my climbing days to the projects that I’m trying.

How do you think your friends would describe you?
I’m not sure, but definitely with lots of hair...
